Specifications, sources & model shortlist
Give Portofino time within the journey
A visit ashore and an afternoon aboard compete for the same hours. If the harbour is the highlight, build the day around a realistic shore transfer and leave room for wandering, lunch or shopping. If the priority is the yacht itself, a coastal view followed by a settled stop may be the more satisfying programme.
More practical details
Santa Margherita or Rapallo can also be discussed when planning guest arrivals. The embarkation point should follow the actual yacht's arrangements and the party's accommodation, rather than requiring every traveller to reach the same picturesque but inconvenient meeting place. A single clear rendezvous is particularly helpful when luggage and overnight guests are involved.
Start with the way the party gathers
The SD90 offers two different approaches to the foredeck: a layout centred on sunbathing and another that gives more space to sitting together. That is a meaningful distinction for a Portofino outing. Guests who want to read in the sun use the bow differently from friends who imagine drinks and conversation there after a swim.
More practical details
In a group with both preferences, choose a principal meeting place and leave another area free for quieter use. The aft cockpit, interior and upper deck give the day different settings. Moving between them can create variety even when the captain keeps the yacht at one well-chosen stop rather than repeatedly relocating it around the promontory.
An interior that can change with the occasion
Sanlorenzo's SD90 design uses modular furnishings and adjustable tables in the saloon. The forward owner accommodation is on the main deck, with guest rooms below. These are useful differences from a layout that places every bedroom downstairs and makes the saloon a single fixed dining room.
More practical details
For a family beginning a longer trip in the Tigullio area, room positions deserve attention before a menu or route is finalised. A guest who retires early may appreciate separation from the others' bedrooms. During the day, an adaptable saloon can support lunch in shade or a more open gathering; the particular furniture fitted to the offered yacht determines the options.
The SD90 within a longer shortlist
The manufacturer dimensions are 27.43 metres overall and 7.00 metres across, with eight guest berths in its reference specification. This places the emphasis on living space within a relatively compact navetta design. Compare it with the larger SD118 if an additional enclosed deck is central to the holiday, rather than assuming the higher model number merely adds length.
More practical details
A charter proposal identifies the actual rooms, permitted guests, equipment and departure arrangements; the reference does not establish a Portofino berth or current availability.
